People are understandably angry and upset, for a couple of reasons:
1) They are angry that time and money they put into a mediocre game to help you reach an exciting future vision appears to have been wasted. People have been saving Isk, they've been building SPs, planning for the future, and that future has been taken away from them.
This is made worse by the fact you clearly have had this intention for a while, and yet still sold AUR to people for boosters as recently as this week. Personally I've bought boosters and have saved 4 mil SPs for 'cool fanfest things', I doubt I'll log in again never mind spend it.
2) They are upset because they own a PS3, are console players, and the game is leaving them behind completely. If we are honest, dust is done, 'the game' will be legion, and those without a PC will be excluded.
How to fix it:
1) You need to apologise and get honest, I don't mean for what you are doing, I think in our heart of hearts we all knew to survive dust needed to leave the PS3 behind in the near future, but for the way you have managed the announcement of that move.
People have paid a lot of money to go iceland to hear that 'their game' will have gone the way of a betamax video recorder by the time they get home. People have spent money on AUR to build up SPs for the exciting future, and you've taken their money while planning to abandon the game. Thats unfair, plain and simple.
You need to arrange an additional round table where Dust players can go and talk through with you what they think, how they feel and what they want.
2) You need to commit, seriously and meaningfully, to some kind of reasonable transfer of skill points and (to a lesser degree) relative wealth into legion. If you don't you will seriously hurt the reputation of CCP and send a small army of extremely upset anti-ccp gamers out into the world to bad mouth the company at every opportunity. On top of that, its the decent thing to do.
Unfortunately, I don't think you can do anything to appease those console gamers who don't have and will never have a gaming PC. I don't know how Sony work, but I think you should seriously think about an AUR refund for purchases in the last few months, with the disclaimer that a refund will be INSTEAD of progression transferred to legion.
